Her parents were comedians Raul Vale and Angelica Maria La Novia Mexico. In 1973, she was credited with launching her own La Balada Ranchera (Ranchera Ballad) music genre that dominated the charts, making Angelica Maria the first Latin artist to have sold two million copies within the United States.
